DFI Presentation: World Bank Private Sector Liaison Officers Agriculture Mission

DFI’s Director of Operations, Michelle Battat, presented to the Private Sector Liaison Officers (PSLO) Agriculture Mission on November 16th, 2016 at the Embassy of Canada in Washington, D.C. Michelle was invited to present success stories from private sector engagement with the IFIs in the agriculture and water sectors. The presentation focused on how companies can create commercial opportunities by aligning their business objectives with the SDGs and other IFI priorities.

The mission, which was organized by the World Bank and the PSLOs from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Austria, and Spain, featured an in-depth program over three days, introducing companies from around the world to the agriculture sector strategies, priorities, and portfolios of the World Bank Group, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. Key areas of focus included:

  • Food security
  • Market access and development
  • Climate change commitments (water management, emergency preparedness, etc.)
