DFI Panel Discussion: Discover Global Markets – The Americas

On June 15th DFI® President and CEO, Diane M. Willkens, will participate in a panel discussion focused on the business opportunities emerging from Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) financed projects and initiatives as part of the Discovering Global Markets (DGM) Americas conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the South Florida District Export Council, DGM Americas aims to convene key stakeholders and encourage a dialogue around how U.S. companies can increase their exports and identify new business opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean.  The conference will bring together approximately 900 participants from the private sector and U.S. commercial service via panels and executive meetings addressing opportunities, challenges, and winning strategies across the region.

The MDB business panel, to be moderated by Matthew Hilgendorf, the U.S.’s Commercial Liaison Officer at the Inter-American Development Bank, will cover details surrounding the nearly $35 B of loans approved each year by the MBDs for development projects and other investments in Latin America and the Caribbean.  Practical recommendations on how companies can position for and win MDB financed contracts, as well as engage in other efforts to leverage these monies and the MDBs’ broader significance to achieve business interests, will also be discussed.

The DFI team will be available for 1-on-1 meetings at DGM Americas for further insight and advice around winning MDB business.  For additional details, please see the DGM Americas webpage or contact Daniel Updegraft at dupdegraft@dfintl.com.
