Uniting Efforts for Innovation, Access and Delivery: A Second Global Dialogue

A Multi-stakeholder Event Addressing Access and Funding for Neglected Tropical Diseases, February 2020

DFI participated in the Uniting Efforts for Innovation, Access and Delivery: A Second Global Dialogue event on February 2-3, 2020 hosted by the Global Health Innovation Technology Fund (GHIT),  the United Nations Development Programme, and the Government of Japan in Bangkok, Thailand.  DFI's Head of Asia Operations, Dave dela Cuesta, led the discussion on "Proposals for Sustainable and Catalytic Donor Funding" with over 120 experts on public health and neglected tropical diseases from Ministries of Health across Asia Pacific, Sub Saharan Africa and Francophone Africa.  Leading health institutions such as the World Health Organization, IAVI, the END Fund, Wellcome Trust and the TB Alliance, among others also presented on key topics such as the progress report on WHO's NTDs Roadmap 2030, access strategies and policies, and investment cases for neglected diseases.

Now on its second year, the Uniting Efforts for Innovation, Access and Delivery Platform bring together a global network of research and development funders, partners and innovators focused on addressing the challenges of access and delivery of medicines, vaccines, and diagnostics reach the people who need them. The events have provided experts an opportunity to share experiences and best practices that will strengthen future collaborations.
